The Greene Brothers followed the Arts & Crafts philosophy of design, take what is nature around you and incorporate your building into it and of course the bedrock of Arts & Crafts building is workmanship  .  Their designs are being copied to this day.

The other arts and crafts motif I think has been overlooked in this area is the heritage of the Creek Indians whose civilization was relatively sophisticated at the time it was eradicated.
